After a break from blogging for the Easter holidays, I return today after a shopping trip looking at all the lovely tribal accents in the shops. Tribal accents have been influencing home decor for decades; travellers bringing back souvenirs to display at home, the eco conscious looking for a more sustainable way of life, or simply those looking for a sense of escapism.
I will be focusing on tribal bedrooms in this post, as this is the look I’m favouring for one of my guest bedrooms.
My inspiration for this look came from this bedding from Nordstrom, but starting at £250 it’s out of my price range, so I decided to look on the high street.
Next is always my go-to shop to start looking – good quality, up to date and reasonably priced. This is one of the nicest looks I’ve seen. It’s actually a two pack set so an even better bargain! The colours in this set are quite neutral and bring a touch of contemporary tribal in a very subtle way.
These Aztec themed ornaments from Sainsbury’s complement the tribal look with their natural elements of wood tones and ethnic patterns.
If brighter colours are your preference, you might like this set from John Lewis. Matching cushions are available to complete the look.
If your home is more monochrome, you can still add a touch of tribal with this Ikat print from M&S. This would look stunning with bright orange cushions and lots of wood accents.
This set from IKEA is a real bargain and could easily be used in a tribal room, with some well chosen accessories.
My favourite pick from online stores is this one from Maisons du Monde.
It has just the right amount of colour, without being overwhelming. I love how it blends with the gold accessories and bright accent wall.
I’m not quite ready to start decorating my guest rooms yet, so I haven’t made a decision about which set to go for. Which one would you choose?
